Debendranath travelled entire India (22,000 KM) with a bicycle which has no break, no chain, no sit. To move the bicycle he leans towards the front over the handle and rolls the front wheel with his hand. Born on 17th July 1971 in a small village 3 miles south from Sabang (West Midnapore). At the age of 17 he moved to Satsai village and started his journey as a cyclist.
দেবেন্দ্রনাথ বেরা তাঁর সাইকেল নিয়ে সারা ভারত ভ্রমণ করেছেন (২২,০০০ কিঃমিঃ). সাইকেলে ভারত ভ্রমণ হয়তো আপনি আগেও শুনেছেন। কিন্তু দেবেন্দ্রনাথ এর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাপারটা একটু আলাদা। তিনি যে সাইকেলটি নিয়ে ভারত ভ্রমণ করেছেন সেই সাইকেল এর না আছে ব্র্যাক, না আছে বসার সিট আর না আছে চেন। আপনি ভাবছেন তাহলে সাইকেলটা চালান কি ভাবে। ছবি দেখলেই বুঝতে পারবেন সামনের হ্যান্ডেলে ভর দিয়ে সামনের দিকে ঝুঁকে হাত দিয়ে সামনের চাকা ঘুরিয়ে সাইকেলটি চালাতে হয়।
